Some ideas for School Lunches and Snacks

Fresh fruit – this one’s easy! Pre-packaged & ready to go!

Vegetable sticks - as many different colours as you can manage! – eg red and yellow capsicum, zucchini, cucumber, celery, carrots, with hummus or cottage cheese dip

Nuts and seeds mix – include walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, pecans etc, and sunflower & pumpkin seeds (pepitas)

Brown/sour dough egg or cheese sandwich

Rice cakes with peanut butter/vegemite

Chicken salad wrap - mountain/Lebanese bread with salad and cold cooked meat. Yum!

Natural yoghurt with tinned fruit

Pita pizza – with yummy healthy toppings

4 bean mix with tomato and cucumber and pita bread

Dried apricots with seeds/nuts

Hard-boiled eggs – peeled


Left over omelette

Quick, homemade muffins

Left over marinated cooked chicken drumsticks/lovely legs

Homemade healthy biscuits – Anzac, oat, muesli etc

Baked beans

Corn on the cob
